A smart EV charger was installed at a holiday let near Bude, giving the owner full control over charging rates and the ability to generate income from guest usage.
The client required a unit with integrated software, so after consultation with a trusted wholesaler, a reliable and cost-effective model was selected, finished in white to match the property exterior.
The installation involved running a new dedicated circuit from the consumer unit to the charger. A Type A 30mA RCBO, matched to the existing Hager system, was installed to ensure full compliance. A rotary isolator was also fitted to provide essential double pole isolation.
Cabling was routed internally in trunking, then externally via an IP-rated adaptable box, with SWA cable secured along the wall and connected to the charger.
Once complete, the system was fully tested, commissioned, and configured to the client’s requirements, including WiFi setup. An Electrical Installation Certificate was issued, and Building Control was notified to ensure full regulatory compliance.
